2023 RACE OF THE PINES
The Race of the Pines is an annual fundraising event that benefits veterans and will feature: Golf Cart Races, Golf Cart Pageant, SBN BBQ Competition, Beer Festival, Parachuters, Great Live Music, Food Trucks, and Celebrity Judges Phil Ford & Richard Petty.
Hang out with your friends and enjoy a day of music & golf cart races at the Harness Track in Pinehurst, North Carolina on May 6th from 4pm - 10pm!
Event Schedule
- 1:00pm: Racers Report
- 1-2:00pm: Tech Inspection
- 2-2:30pm: Pre-Staging Paddock
- 3:30pm: Gates Open for Event
- 3:30pm: Drivers Meeting
- 4-6:00pm: Qualifying Heats & Head-to-Head Grudge Matches
- 4-6:00pm: BBQ & Beer, Music by Paula Carlson
- 6-6:30pm: Kentucky Derby
- 6:30-7:00pm: Best Golf Cart & Best Dressed
- 7-7:30pm: Final Races
- 7:45-8:00pm: Awards Ceremony (BBQ, Best Golf Cart, Best Dressed, ROP Champs)

Don your biggest hats and your best derby attire and join us at the Harness Track for Race of the Pines on Saturday, May 6 from 5pm-7:30pm. The ROP Kentucky Derby Hat Party features a Jumbotron view of the race, live music and a bar serving select adult beverages. Tickets come with three drink tickets. Event is 21+.

- Registration
- Early registration cost is $100 and ends May 4th at 11:59pm.
- Late Registration is $200, beginning May 5th and ending May 6th at 1:00pm.
- Cannot register for race and pageant with the same cart.
- Check-In
- All golf carts must arrive by 1pm to be checked-in for tech inspection and remain in the staging area throughout the entire event.
- Classification
- Upon arrival, Tech Review will confirm the race category applicable to each cart. Designated Categories: Stock Gas, Modified Gas, Stock Electric & Modified Electric.
- Race Format
- Carts will be staged and compete in Head-to-Head drag races against carts in the same category.
- Carts may also participate in Head-to-Head Grudge Matches with carts outside their designated category.
- Determining Class Winners
- The two quickest carts in each category will race against each other. The "The Fastest Cart in Pinehurst" will be determined by pairing the two quickest category winners regardless of category.
- Trailing Cart
- If you are trailing your cart to the event, you must part truck & trailer in the parking area designated for vehicles, unload your cart and drive your cart to the cart staging area (approximately 250 yards).
